The case studies in this book were compiled and selected from patient histories in the gynecology department of Xi Yuan hospital which began in 1956; and include case studies from the author’s treatment of serious obstetrics and gynecological cases outside the hospital. The representative case studies chosen are those with marked treatment results and those with a high reference value. In his treatment of gynecological disorders, Dr. Qian emphasizes the importance of regulating and supplementing the Liver, Spleen and Kidney; he finds these organs to have a strong correlation with the processes of menstruation, vaginal discharge, pregnancy, fetal development, and labour. His treatment of various disorders, especially in preventing miscarriage and in infertility cases, has proven that regulation of the Spleen and Stomach, and supplementation of the Liver and Kidney can be very effective.
