Description
The Preparing for Birth courses prepares participants with the knowledge, training and practical skills to support women and birth partners, in face to face consultations or virtual telemedicine consultations, to:
- Prepare for a normal physiological approach to birth
- Prepare women and birth partners who may have planned hospital interventions, such as caesarean section, and how to fill the hormonal gaps.
- Prepare for unexpected outcomes in birth and how to manage the hormonal gaps in labour.
The course contains both theoretical and practical components designed to provide participants with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills. The practical and videoed components are structured to provide learning experiences, which complement the theoretical component, and assist participants to develop competency.
Module 3 focuses on Preparing for Birth- Practical Techniques: Utilising guided imagery, yoga, breathing and relaxation techniques
