What To Expect

DAY 1: Core Foundations & Treatment Structure

Morning
Learn:
Review of core theory from Modules 1 & 2, including safety principles and treatment rationale. Observe an auricular muscle demonstration, followed by guided student practice to refine palpation, point location, and needle handling.

Afternoon
Learn:
Step-by-step demonstration of A/E protocols, with supervised student practice. Observe a full facial treatment demonstration to understand treatment flow, sequencing, and practitioner ergonomics. Intake and consultation structure will be discussed where time allows, followed by open Q&A.

For Your Practice:
Develop a clear, repeatable treatment framework grounded in anatomy, safety, and clinical reasoning. By the end of Day 1, you’ll have a stronger grasp of assessment, treatment flow, and how to structure facial sessions with clarity and confidence.

DAY 2: Clinical Communication & Adjunct Integration

Learn:
Students will conduct peer interviews to practise intake, communication, and expectation-setting, followed by supervised treatment practice. Red light therapy will be demonstrated, with discussion around when and how to integrate it appropriately into facial acupuncture treatments.

For Your Practice:
Refine how you assess, explain, and deliver facial treatments in a real-world clinical setting. Gain confidence integrating red light therapy as an adjunct, while improving consultation skills that support patient trust, compliance, and long-term engagement.

DAY 3: Advanced Tools & Specialised Techniques

Learn:
Discussion of dermal rolling principles and indications, followed by facial cupping and gua sha demonstrations with hands-on practice. Advanced techniques and microneedling will be demonstrated, then practised under supervision to ensure safe and effective application.

For Your Practice:
Expand your technical skill set with advanced facial tools and techniques that support both cosmetic and therapeutic outcomes. Learn how to incorporate cupping, gua sha, dermal rolling, and microneedling thoughtfully into treatment plans, including options for patient self-care education and adjunct services.

Participants will receive access to Michelle Gellis’ 2024 recorded course, covering Modules 1–5 (these must be viewed before the workshop):

• Module 1–2 (Theory & Protocols): Will be reviewed live during class.
• Module 3–5 (Microneedling, Face Reading, Cupping/Gua Sha, Derma Rolling, Advanced Techniques).

DAY 1 – Foundations & Practical Skills:

Morning Lecture

DAY 2 – Hands-On Precision & Microneedling:

Morning Demonstration & Practice

• Live demonstration of a full cosmetic acupuncture treatment including analysis/diagnosis
• Supervised practice: precision and confidence in needle placement (focus on neck, intramuscular, and fascia points)

Afternoon continued practice

Microneedling & Adjunct Therapies

• Introduction to microneedling: benefits, concepts, and safety
• Live demonstration: depth, pressure, frequency, aftercare protocols
• When, where, and how to needle for optimal cosmetic outcomes
• Safe product use with microneedling
• Red Light Therapy demonstration (new integration)
• Optional purchase/use of the AcuLift Micropen

Marketing for Cosmetic Acupuncture (new material)

• Building a successful cosmetic acupuncture practice
• Branding, testimonials, patient communication

DAY 3 – Cupping, Gua Sha & Advanced Neuromuscular Techniques:

Morning – Cupping & Gua Sha

• Overview of facial cupping and gua sha tools and techniques
• Live demonstration of face and neck applications
• Hands-on practice in pairs/small groups, tailoring to patient needs
• Integration with cosmetic acupuncture protocols

Afternoon – Advanced & Neuromuscular Techniques

• Introduction to advanced rejuvenation strategies for difficult cases (jowls, neck lines, deep wrinkles)
• Submuscular needling, threading, and facial motor points (live demonstration + practice)
• Neuromuscular applications: treating Bell’s palsy, TMJ, ptosis, facial paralysis, etc.
• Nervous system and its role in facial tone/expression
• Scalp acupuncture demonstration and integration with facial treatment
• Wrap-up discussion and review
