About Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée

Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée is an internationally respected scholar and translator of classical Chinese medical and philosophical texts. Born in Paris in 1949, Elisabeth studied literature, philosophy, and Chinese in Paris and Taiwan.

In 1970 she began studying classical Chinese texts under Claude Larre at the Ricci Institute in Paris. Later she became Secretary General of the Institute, staying there until 2005. Elisabeth now teaches at the Jesuit University of Paris and also the European School of Acupuncture, where she is a Senior Lecturer.

Elisabeth’s passion for classical Chinese Medicine and philosophy, along with her dedication to teaching, make her lectures an inspiration.
