Webinar Description

This was by far THE BEST webinar I have ever attended! Dr Brian Grosam made understanding the pathomechanisms and treatment of Hot Flashes incredibly easy to understand. It gave me so much more insight into understanding that sometimes nourishing Yin actually does so much more damage than you can ever realise. The explanation of Yin/Yang Deficiency and TCM pathophysiology leading to how it may present the way it does, was absolutely fascinating! Would 100% recommend!

Our main objective is to gain a better understanding of “the hot-flash environment” from both a classical Chinese medicine perspective and from the western scientific perspective. We need to think and look beyond “yin deficiency” and “hormone imbalance.”

Chinese medicine takes a holistic approach to understanding and treating the body with its nature-oriented physiological understandings of qi (energy), blood (nutrition), yin and yang, five-phase, zangfu (internal) organs, jing (essence), shen (spirit), and the channel (meridian) system, which connects every tissue in the body. One of these factors working independently or several working simultaneously may be and are often involved in the creation of what I call “the hot-flash environment.”

After all, the source and cause of a hot flash can often times be a complex cascade or series of events which can make it difficult to diagnose and treat. In the acupuncture clinic, it is far too easy to treat hot flashes by naively nourishing yin or trying to clear a pathogenic heat. To truly be able to help the difficult hot flash case, we must see and understand how the hot flash is presenting as a symptom by examining the internal yin yang environment.

What we will gain to learn from this lecture is how to more accurately hone in on the root mechanisms behind “the hot-flash environment,” thus, giving us a more defined path to follow towards a more accurate diagnosis that will allow us to treat hot flashes with better precision.

Dr. Briam Grosam is the best-selling author of “Understanding and Treating Hot Flashes in Menopause with Chinese Medicine and will take us through this incredible first ever course with Chinese Medicine Education on Navigating the Hot-Flash Environment with Chinese Medicine.
