Channel examination is a classical diagnostic technique not often taught in modern acupuncture schools. Emphasised in the earliest acupuncture texts (Nei Jing/Nan Jing), observation and palpation of the channels is extremely helpful for confirming diagnosis, refining point selection and improving clinical results.
