Pelvic pain, whether it be from endometriosis, adenomyosis, or another condition, is gaining light in the public eye and more women are looking for alternatives to Western treatment options. A recent study has shown that for 80% of women with endometriosis, pain is not prompted by the diseased tissue itself, but rather the way the tissue interacts with the nerves in the pelvis. Surgery may not be the best option for these cases. As acupuncturists we can offer a potential alternative, using our known pathways of nervous system interaction to benefit these patients.
Endometriosis and adenomyosis in particular are often considered complex diseases, but ones we can work with effectively through the lens of Chinese medicine with the right tools in our tool kit. In this seminar we discuss Tung’s acupuncture for management of pelvic pain conditions in a way that is logical and succinct. Practitioners will leave the day with a selection of Tung’s points that they can begin applying immediately in their clinical practice. We also discuss the broader implications of these points, outside of the realm of pelvic pain.

“Outstanding! Naomi manages to explain difficult concepts in a way that is easily accessible for those who are unfamiliar with this style of acupuncture. The information is clinically relevant and immediately applicable. Naomi is a pleasure to listen to.!”

Tung acupuncture is known for its minimal needling and powerful results. This one-day seminar introduces Tung theory and its practical application for treatment which focuses on the management of pelvic pain conditions associated with endometriosis, adenomyosis, vaginismus and vulvodynia. This session is appropriate for both the new graduate and those already familiar with the Tung system.
In this seminar we condense the concepts of Tung’s acupuncture, making it immediately accessible and applicable in clinical practice. Practitioners will gain specific understanding of the use of key acupuncture points for pelvic pain conditions with a broad range of clinical applications alongside an analysis of the (TCM) patterns associated with endometriosis, adenomyosis, vaginismus and vulvodynia.
Naomi presents a step-by-step system that allows the practitioner to go from their diagnosis to the appropriate selection of points via pulse diagnosis, palpation, and consideration of pain locations, within a framework that is logical and effective.
