The Tung’s Acupuncture Immersion: Four Days to Clinical Mastery with Henry McCann

6 February, 9:00 am - 9 February, 5:00 pm
$1550 – $2300

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Many acupuncturists are drawn to the extraordinary clinical results achieved through Master Tung’s acupuncture system — yet the system’s reputation for being complex or entirely separate from standard TCM often leads to hesitation. This immersive four-day training with Dr Henry McCann dissolves that uncertainty by bringing together the full theoretical foundation, clinical reasoning skills, and practical pain-management applications that make Tung’s system so powerful.

Across four structured days, you’ll discover that Tung’s acupuncture is not about memorising endless points — it’s about understanding points differently. By learning the principles that underpin Master Tung’s method, you’ll uncover how the TCM points you already know can become dramatically more effective, flexible, and precise in clinical practice.

The first half of the immersion focuses on Tung’s core theories: channel correspondences, mirror/image concepts, point pairing, Five Phase relationships, and the deeper reasoning that explains why treatments work—not just what to do. This theoretical clarity liberates practitioners from rigid prescriptions and instead builds the ability to choose points with confidence, creativity, and accuracy.

The second half shifts into a highly practical, clinically focused exploration of pain, injury, and traumatology. You’ll learn targeted Tung protocols for both acute and chronic presentations, understand how to treat different injury stages, and master external herbal applications—poultices, medicated liniments, and topical formulations—that significantly enhance outcomes. Live demonstrations ensure that you leave ready to implement these tools immediately in clinic.

Together, these four days provide a complete framework that strengthens diagnostic insight, streamlines treatment planning, and elevates your ability to deliver rapid, reliable results that patients notice.

Whether you’re completely new to Tung’s system, refining your foundation, or already an experienced practitioner seeking deeper mastery, this integrated immersion brings both theory and clinical application together in a way that transforms your practice.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Familiar Points, Revolutionary Results – Master Tung’s Approach to TCM Foundations Days 1 & 2

Foundational Master Tung Principles & Enhanced Clinical Reasoning: Build a clear understanding of the guiding theories behind Tung’s acupuncture—holographic correspondence, channel systems, Dao Ma theory, and key diagnostic frameworks. Learn how these principles explain the power of Tung’s points and how they translate directly into sophisticated, flexible clinical decision-making.

Channel Connection Theory & Expanded Treatment Strategies: Explore dynamic channel relationships that open entirely new therapeutic pathways. Learn how to treat local pain through distant points, access sensitive or blocked regions through alternative channels, and create multi-layered treatment plans that work systematically and efficiently.

Mirror/Image Concepts & Flexible Point Application: Apply mirror and image theory to multiply your treatment options, especially when areas are too painful or contraindicated. Gain the ability to confidently treat the face, hands, feet, and sensitive regions using elegant, effective alternatives.

Basic Needle Methods & Precision Technique: Refine your needling skills with Tung-specific techniques that improve accuracy and therapeutic potency. Subtle shifts in angle, depth, and manipulation dramatically enhance the effectiveness of points you already use.

TCM Point Analysis Through a Tung Lens: Re-examine commonly used TCM points with new insight. Understand additional functions, indications, and clinical contexts revealed through Tung’s analytical framework—opening up far more flexibility without needing new point locations.

Five Phase Integration & Constitutional Treatment: Learn how Five Phase theory interacts with Tung’s system to address deeper constitutional patterns. This approach supports both symptom relief and the underlying imbalances that drive chronic conditions.

Point Pairs (Dui Xue 對穴) & Synergistic Effects: Discover the logic behind key point combinations and why certain pairs produce outcomes greater than the sum of their parts. Develop the skill to build sophisticated treatment formulas with intention and precision.

Advanced Pain & Injury Management – Tung’s Acupuncture & External Herb Applications Days 3 & 4

Pain & Injury Management Using Master Tung’s System: Shift from theory into hands-on clinical application. Learn Tung’s most effective points for musculoskeletal pain, acute injuries, chronic stagnation patterns, and stubborn conditions that often resist conventional treatment.

Stages of Injury & Strategic Treatment Planning: Understand how to treat injuries across all phases—from fresh trauma to chronic degeneration. Learn what techniques accelerate healing and what to avoid during different stages.

Targeted Protocols for Common Pain Conditions: Receive a systematic, structured approach to treating common presentations such as low back pain, neck/shoulder disorders, knee injuries, sports strains, tendon issues, and chronic pain syndromes.

Internal & External Herbal Strategies for Comprehensive Care: Explore herbal formulas matched to body regions and injury types. Learn how herbal support can enhance your acupuncture results while giving patients meaningful tools for home care.

Poultices, Medicated Liniments & Traditional Applications: Through live demonstrations, learn how to prepare and apply external herbal treatments that significantly amplify acupuncture outcomes. These therapies not only boost clinical results but also offer additional practice revenue streams.

Clinical Integration & Real-World Application: See how all components — Tung point theory, channel work, needling technique, injury staging, and herbal strategies—combine into a cohesive, powerful clinical system. Leave with the confidence to treat more effectively, more intuitively, and with faster, more consistent patient outcomes.
