About Henry McCann (DAOM, LAc)
Henry McCann, DAOM, LAc is the co-author with Dr. Hans-Georg Ross of Practical Atlas of Tung’s Acupuncture, and is the author of Pricking the Vessels: Bloodletting Therapy of Chinese Medicine. He has taught Tung’s acupuncture and other advanced topics in Chinese Medicine in Europe, in Asia, and throughout the United States. Dr. McCann did his initial training at the New England School of Acupuncture and then his clinical doctorate at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine with specialties in Geriatric Medicine and in Women’s Health. Prior to that he graduated from Oberlin College and was a Fulbright fellow to Japan.
Dr. McCann is on the faculty of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where he teaches Chinese medical classics, and is also on the faculty of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine doctoral degree programs. Aside from his teaching and clinical responsibilities, he is currently enrolled as a PhD research student at the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. Dr. McCann has a strong interest in the Nourishing Life traditions of Chinese medicine, and is an avid practitioner, a teacher, and a formal lineage holder in Chen style Taijiquan and a classical system of Daoist Neigong.
