A condition that is treated with acupuncture extensively in China, but not so much in western clinics, is stroke recovery. Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability in Australia and this year we will have 470,000 people living with the after-effects of stroke (predicted to continue to rise). In America, it is the 3rd leading cause of death and the leading cause of chronic disability.
