It was a difficult case of lower back pain that lead to the discovery of the abdominal acupuncture microsystem. Professor Zhiyun Bo had been treating a patient for debilitating lower back pain and sciatica that just wasn’t getting better with any of the treatments he’d tried. Finally, in one last ditch attempt, he tried the simple combination of qi hai (CV-6) and guan yuan (CV-4) which, to his great surprise, resolved the severe, chronic lower back pain within minutes. This motivated him to further develop abdominal acupuncture.
Two decades later and we have great teachers like Dave Shipsey teaching abdominal acupuncture to practitioners who are eager to have another effective system up their sleeve for treating pain and stubborn conditions. In this excerpted video Dave shares some ideas on using abdominal acupuncture for lower back pain.
