This is a Certification Course
Upon completion of the course you will be issued with a certificate from the International Cosmetic Acupuncture Association. As it is a certification course participants are required to sit an examination at the end of the course.
50% Theory and 50% Practical!
Participants will have the opportunity to gain plenty of hands-on experience under the close guidance of Radha. On completion of this course, you will feel confident to apply the skills you learn in clinical practice.
Course Outline – Foundation Level
The course aims to discuss the theory and practice of balancing energetic states of the body and mind, in order to treat problems of skin, the connective tissue that adhere the skin firmly to the muscle, muscle sagging and postural problems relating to ageing – and how to correct them.
What You Will Learn:
Yin, Yang, Blood and Qi of the skin, connective tissues, muscles and how we can influence the well being of these tissues.
Acupuncture points (general and specific) for dermatological problems.
Special techniques including bleeding, local needling, moxibustion, plum-blossom tapping and electrical stimulation, gua sha and cupping.
Diagnosis and Treatment of specific skin conditions including:
Cosmetic Acupuncture:
- Face lifting and sagging skin
- Fine and deep wrinkle treatment
- Cellulite treatment
- Posture correction
Dermatology:
- Acne Vulgaris
- Eczema
- Psoriasis
- Alopecia
- Pigmentation (Vitiligo, hyperpigmentation, age spots)
- Excessive sweating
Course Outline – Advanced Level
This seminar is for participants who have completed the Dermatology and Cosmetic Basic Course. It takes you to a higher level of theory and practice, and helps you with problems you have encountered during practice.
What You Will Learn:
Acupuncture points (general and specific) for dermatological problems.
Further develop your needling and special technique skills learnt in the basic course, in particular Gua Sha, cupping, Plum-Blossom tapping and needling technique for face lifting.
Diagnosis and Treatment of specific skin conditions including:
Cosmetic Acupuncture:
- Five element facial types – their common problems and treatment
- Triple Warmer facial types – their peculiarities and treatment
- Breast Changes (lifting, enlarging, reduction)
- Deep wrinkle treatment
- 13 Point protocol for slimming
- Varicose and telangiectasia veins
- Spider veins and capillaries
Dermatology:
- Severe dry skin
- Unexplained itching
- Warts – plantar warts, warts on the dorsum and palmar of hands
- Urticaria
- Fungal infections
