Herbal ingredients
Manufacture of ChinaMed® begins with selecting only top quality ‘A’ grade herbs, from the prime growing regions within China. These are sourced immediately prior to production for each new batch of herbal formula. The individual herbal ingredients are identified according to the guidelines in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, and each herb is assessed by physical properties, microscopic features, chemical tests and chromatographic markers, as required.
Manufacturing standards
The ChinaMed® range is manufactured under Australian Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, which are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), part of the federal Department of Health. In addition, the manufacturer is also certified by the Chinese state GMP, and must also conform to these standards.
Neck & Shoulder Formula: Jing Jiang Qu Tong Fang [CM185] Classic formulas. 78 capsules per bottle. Actions: TCM Actions: > Dispels Wind-Cold-Damp to relieve pain > tonifies the Qi and nourishes the Blood > activates the Blood and dispels stasis. TCM Syndrome Patterns: > Wind-Damp Bi syndrome (affecting the upper body). Critical Pharmaceutical Actions: None noted. Indications: > Osteoarthritis > rheumatoid arthritis > facial paralysis (Bell s palsy). Signs & Symptoms (Key clinical features in bold) > Shoulder pain > Neck pain > Joint stiffness, reduced range of motion > Localized muscle wasting > Symptoms worsened by cold and wet weather conditions > Fatigue > Pale tongue with a thin white coat > Thready, weak and possibly also wiry pulse Cautions & Contraindications > Avoid foods that may aggravate arthritis (e.g. sugar, caffeine, citrus, salt, red meat, dairy products,additives, soft drinks, white flour, nightshades, white potatoes, tobacco). > Avoid hydrogenated fats (i.e. Trans-fats). > Not suitable for arthritic and rheumatic conditions due to Heat. > Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin). > Contains Glycyrrhiza, which potentiates prednisone and corticosteroids by prolonging steroid biological half-life; caution in patients with hypertension.
