SUMMARY:Motor Point Acupuncture & Trigger Point Needling For Nerve Entrapments
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE \nWORKSHOP OVERVIEW\nIf you see pain in your clinic\, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to level up your orthopaedic acupuncture game. \nWe’ve had Rich Hazel out to teach motor point acupuncture many times over the years\, and this will be the first time he’s sharing his experience and protocols for nerve entrapment conditions in depth. \nThese are the kind of conditions that can have us scratching our heads or our patients racing off for imaging and surgery. \nSave these patients from prolonged pain and enhance your reputation for more complicated pain referrals with Rich Hazel in March 2025. \n \n\n TICKET OPTIONS \nFor advanced returning students who have participated in at least one live event with Rich Hazel in the past\, you have the option of skipping Day 1 Foundations and joining us for the rest of the days 2-4. \nFor all new students or those who have only learned from online recordings\, Day 1 Foundations is necessary to obtain the hands on tuition needed for applying motor point acupuncture. \nWe will also be providing a list of muscles for participants to familiarise themselves with before the event. Being familiar with the anatomy will save you time in hands-on practical portions and allow to get more needling and treatment practice. \n \nWORKSHOP OUTLINE\n\n Day 1 Foundations\nCore Essentials \nUpper Crossed Neck Pain \nNeck Protocol \n  \nDay 2 Upper Limb Entrapments & Pain\nRadial Tunnel Syndrome \nPosterior Interosseous Nerve Entrapment \nSuperficial Radial Nerve Entrapment \nRTS protocol \nMistaken for Tennis Elbow and DeQuervains Protocol \nUlnar Nerve Entrapment or Cubital Tunnel Syndrome \nMedian Nerve Entrapment \nPronator Teres Syndrome \nCarpal Tunnel Syndrome \nGolfers Elbow Protocol \nNeurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome \n  \nDay 3 Sciatica & Related Entrapments\nSciatica Protocol: Discogenic and non-discogenic sciatica \nPseudo Sciatica: Superior Cluneal Nerve Entrapment protocol and Superior Gluteal Nerve Entrapment protocol \nAssessment and Differention from Sciatica \nDry Needling for Glutes and Deep Rotators \n  \nDay 4 Lower Limb Entrapments & Pain\nDrop Foot : Common and Deep Peroneal Nerve Entrapment protocol \nDorsal Foot Numbness protocol \nSuperficial Peroneal Nerve Entrapment \nPlantar Foot Numbness \nTarsal Tunnel plus intrinsic foot protocol \nTendinous Arch of the Soleus entrapment of Tibial Nerve protocol \nIlioinguinal iliohypogastric Nerve Entrapment (pelvic floor symptoms) \nObturator Nerve Entrapment (adductors weak and leg stays externally rotated when supine) \nLateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment (Meralgia Parenthetica) protocol (upper thigh pain\, burning\, numbness) \nDry Needling of Adductor Magnus for pubic and pelvic pain \n \nREGISTER HERE \nABOUT THE PRESENTER\n \nRich Hazel uses a unique style of acupuncture that relies heavily on knowledge of neurology and sports medicine. SUMMARY:Daoist Ways Of Enhancing Vitality with Livia Kohn
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE \n \nWORKSHOP OVERVIEW\nVitality in Daoism is a function of vital energy or qi\, notably the smoothness and harmony of its flow. Various methods serve to enhance this\, creating a stronger level of health\, a greater sense of well-being\, and an extension of youthful living. \nAfter an introductory discussion of the nature and workings of qi on Saturday morning\, starting at 9:30\, the workshop presents a series of different methods that serve to enhance the quality and power of qi. For the remainder of Saturday\, we focus on opening the energy flow by learning about and engaging in breathing practices\, healing exercises\, and internal qi-guiding. There will be a lunch break from 12:30 to 14:00 and we will adjourn for the day at 17:00. \nFollowing the same overall schedule\, on Sunday morning\, we energize the five inner organs\, working with particular methods of breathing and studying the power of visualization. In the afternoon\, we learn how to activate core Daoist values\, notably sufficiency and nonaction\, engaging with the essential potentialities of heaven and earth. \nIn each case\, sessions last about one hour and fifteen minutes. They begin with a PowerPoint presentation\, then open to questions\, after which we engage in the actual practices. The goal is to engage with Daoist thinking\, increase awareness of qi\, and gain a set of tools to choose from for its modification and the enhancement of vitality. \nABOUT LIVIA KOHN\n \nLivia Kohn is Professor Emerita of Religion & East Asian Studies at Boston University. Her specialty is Daoism and the study of Chinese longevity practices. She has written and edited numerous books and articles. A long-term practitioner of taiji quan and meditation\, she is also a certified instructor of yoga and qigong. One of the world’s foremost Daoist scholars\, Livia is expert at placing each practice in its historical and cultural context\, relating its current application and efficaciousness to modern Western living. \nDETAILS\nDate: Saturday 5th April to Sunday 6th April 2025\nTime: 9:30am – 5:00pm daily\nVenue: Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM) \nclass room 2 level 6 /25-29 Dixon St\, Haymarket\, NSW\, Australia\nCPD: 13 CPD\nIncluded: Notes\, Morning Tea\, Afternoon Tea \nEARLY BIRD PRICING (ends Monday 24th March)\nPractitioner: $595\nStudent: $495 \nREGULAR PRICING\nPractitioner: $695\nStudent: $595 \nREGISTER HERE \nTerms and Conditions\n*Early Bird: Full payment is required 4 weeks prior to the start of the Seminar and Workshop\n*Registrations cancelled up to one week prior to the seminar will be refunded less 20%.
