SUMMARY:1 Day Workshop: 5 Element Archetypes and Acupuncture Point Combinations with David Hartmann
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\nPresenting our homegrown favourite!\nDavid Hartmann\, author of “The Principles and Practical Application of Acupuncture Point Combinations” and “Acupoint Dictionary 2e”.\n \nPractitioner Testimonial\n\n“Incredible teacher that makes understanding difficult concepts easier and fun! fundamental or advanced concepts together are just easy to learn and understand with David! A Fascinating and in-depth learning approach with an amazing teacher! Thankyou David! ”                          – EB (TCM Practitioner)\n\nRegister Now\n\nSeminar Description:\nIf you were asked to describe yourself in one word\, what would it be? Would you say you were an Adventurer? What about a Magician? Perhaps a Saviour? An Alchemist? Or maybe a Philosopher? \nWelcome to the fascinating world of Five Element Archetypes. Within this archetype system there are five different personality types. One of them will be your ‘Guardian’ or dominant archetype; there will be a second that is your ‘Support-Act’ archetype\, and you will be a small part of the remaining three. \nThese archetypes are not the only system to think about when you are trying to understand people. The Five Spirits (Wǔ Shén) are also an important consideration\, because they help further dissect complex individuals. And whilst there is an argument that your archetype doesn’t change in your life (Nature versus Nurture not withstanding)\, the Five Spirits can change daily\, hourly\, or even as you are sitting there reading this course description. \nThe value of understanding\, and implementing\, the Five Element Archetypes and Five Spirits\, into your clinic cannot be understated. They give you a greater insight into your patient’s personality – how they operate in their worlds; how they tick! This also aids you in the treatment of your patient’s emotional turmoil\, stress\, and mental health. \nEach of the Five Element Archetypes will be thoroughly discussed\, along with acupuncture point combination treatments provided. A brief discussion on the Five Spirits will also be included. Essentially you will be given information that can be applied to your clinical\, and personal lives immediately. \nJoin us for this fascinating workshop. SUMMARY:1 Day Workshop: Numerology and Acupuncture Point Combinations with David Hartmann
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\nPresenting our homegrown favourite!\nDavid Hartmann\, author of “The Principles and Practical Application of Acupuncture Point Combinations” and “Acupoint Dictionary 2e”.\n  \n \nPractitioner Testimonial\n\n“Incredible teacher that makes understanding difficult concepts easier and fun! fundamental or advanced concepts together are just easy to learn and understand with David! A Fascinating and in-depth learning approach with an amazing teacher! Thankyou David! ”                               – EB (TCM Practitioner)\n\nRegister Now\n\nSeminar Description:\nOn the surface\, it might seem like numerology and Chinese medicine have nothing in common\, but this assumption is wide of the mark. It is accurate to say that numerology was created in Greece whereas\, China created Chinese medicine. It is also accurate to say that Greece and China had little\, or nothing\, to do with one another when numerology was created\, in the middle 500’s BCE. \nChinese medicine and philosophy\, as you probably know\, involves a lot of numbers. The Three Powers\, Four Levels\, Five Elements\, Six Divisions\, Seven Emotions\, are just some of the myriads of systems in Chinese medicine that use numbers to define them. \nNumerology does likewise as it attempts to explain each person’s archetype. For the most part there are 9 numbers in this archetype system. Of these 9 numerology numbers\, there are ‘Ruling’ or ‘LifePath’ numbers. There are ‘Personal Year’ numbers; and the numbers of your date of birth can also provide you with the ‘Arrows of Pythagoras’. What is interesting here\, is that a lot of these numbers point towards a relationship with the Chinese medicine organ system. That being the case\, you can use specific acupuncture point combinations to treat a patient within their numerology numbers and arrows. \nIf you are interested in learning archetype systems that can help you understand your patients more\, then this is the workshop for you. Even more exciting is the fact that once you know these archetype systems you can learn more about anyone – yourself\, friends\, family – even your enemies. \nPerhaps even more incredible is that you are given dozens of acupuncture point combinations that can be applied in your clinic immediately. \nSo\, join us for this fascinating workshop that will almost certainly change the life of your patients\, yourself and the people close to you. \n\n NOTE: \n• Participants are provided with additional numerology material (beyond the PowerPoint slides) to help with analysing\, assessing\, and diagnosing. \n• Bonus article on ‘Numerology and the 27 Club’ for the first ten participants to book. \n\nNumerology Workshop Themes/Topics Discussed:\n\n\n\nA brief history of the Numerology Archetype system.\n‘Ruling/Life Path’ numbers.\n‘Personal Year’ numbers.\n‘Arrows of Pythagoras’.\nAcupuncture Point Combinations used to treat.\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nSchedule\nSATURDAY: 9.30am-5.30pm \n9.30am-11am –Part 1 – Theory and Background \n\nIntroduction of background and workshop content\nReview numerology – generally and historically.\nAnalyse each of the ‘Ruling/Life Path’ number archetypes. SUMMARY:FOOD AS MEDICINE SERIES: Applying Chinese Dietetic Therapy in Practice (Advanced) with Deirdre Courtney
DESCRIPTION:Presenting Deirdre Courtney\, TCM Practitioner\, Chef\, Lecturer and Author of the best seller “Nourishing Life the Yang Sheng Way: Nutrition and Lifestyle Advice from Chinese Medicine” for our first ever Foundations Lecture. Learn how to recommend food appropriately during treatment to help sustain long term change!\n\n\n\nRegister Now\nWebinar Description\nApplying Chinese Dietetic Therapy in Practice (Advanced) \nOne of the most important things you can do for your patients is to educate them about self-care and preventative medicine particularly with a notion on how to manage their TCM patterns for more positive and sustainable clinical outcomes. Food is one area where many patients may struggle with\, where they do not understand how to eat for their condition or underlying pattern and it may not always be tonification\, oftentimes TCM Practitioners should be looking at prescribing foods as medicine in a reduction\, clearing and harmonizing capacity in the same way that we would prescribe herbs. \nIn addition\, diet is one of the hardest things to change within someone’s lifestyle. How do we look to enact longterm and sustainable change within our patients for maximum effectiveness? \nIn Part 2 (Advanced) we will go deeper into how we can apply these principles in modern life\, and the best ways to help support out patients and not overwhelm them.  \nThis course will dive deeper into how to construct recipes\, in similar ways to constructing prescriptions along with more advanced patient management principles for diet. As TCM Practitioners we are and should be allowed to prescribe foods with an understanding of the underlying pattern\, we have the foundations to do so as long as we understand the basic principles and theories of what we are prescribing and not just prescribing “shot gun” style. You will also be able to better and more confidently practice within your clinical scope of TCM dietary recommendation after taking both courses. \nThis is why we would highly recommend that all participants interested in taking this course\, first visit and complete the foundations course as this advanced course is where we build on the previous knowledge and give TCM Practitioners and students alike the tools to heal with one of the biggest tools at our disposal. Food as Medicine. \nThis suggestion is predicated on the fact that this advanced course is an extension of the foundational course which is a four hour lecture of our Food as Medicine Series. This is highly recommended but (not a prerequisite) that registrants complete the foundations course first before doing the Advanced course to get the most out of this course content. \nClick here for the Foundations Course Outline \n\n\nWebinar Outline\n\n\n\nIntroduction and Theory on Application of TCM Nutrition and Dietetics\n– Assessment of a Patient’s Diagnosis and Dietary Requirements in accordance with TCM Principles:\n– We will look at ways to work with your patients diets that best suits them- Patient management aspect\n\n\nTheory:\n– Understanding Certain Foods as Medicine and What Medicines are actually Foods as well\n– How and why we apply food prescriptions in Clinical Practice\nClinical Application:\n– How to build TCM-based Recipes: Selecting individual herbs/foods that can be added to stocks\, congees and soups to support health and recovery from certain illnesses.\nTCM Dietetic Modification Principles:\n– Adding different types of foods to help blood\, Qi\, Kidney Jing\, Clear Heat\, Drain Damp and Warm Cold etc.\nClinical Application:\nProviding Rationale and Recipes for:\n– Morning Sickness\n– Canker Sores\n– High Blood Pressure/Hypertension\n– Constipation\n– Parasites\n– Boosting Immunity\nDiscussion and review – Summary with tie up from prior knowledge (Foundations and Advanced Content)\n(Q&A Section) \n\n\n\nRenowned Chinese Medicine Practitioner and qualified chef Deirdre Courtney as well as author of “Nourishing Life the Yang Sheng Way: Nutrition and Lifestyle Advice from Chinese Medicine“ will take us through the fascinating Part 2 (Advanced) of our Food As Medicine Series with Chinese Medicine Education\, with a view to have a live lecture/workshop and cooking class next year\, centering around women’s health\, pregnancy and postpartum theories and traditional recipes. \nIt is highly recommended that those who are interested in attending her (potential) live workshop next year\, complete her two foundation and advanced webinars first. \nPrerequisites and Recommendations:\nIt is highly recommended that those who are interested in attending her (potential) live workshop next year\, complete her two foundation and advanced webinars first.\n– Students of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2nd year knowledge minimum)\n– TCM Practitioners who are legally allowed to practice within their jurisdiction with a minimum of 200 hours of clinical practice and foundational theory of the substances and patterns \n\nAbout Deirdre Courtney\n \nDeirdre Courtney is an internationally known lecturer and teacher specialising in Yang Sheng; Chinese Nutrition; Herbs; Facial Diagnosis; Face Reading; Working with Spirit Points and the Emotions. But that is only half of what defines the length of our individual lives. It is also necessary to take into account individual lifestyle choices\, habits\, and environmental factors that influence our post-natal jing or essence. These impacts speedup or slowdown\, increase or decrease our wakeful years. \nThe Difficult Issues (Nan Jing)\, a classical Chinese medicine text\, provides an essential clue to longevity and explains how external and internal factors affect our kidneys and influence lifespan. It explains how if health is not properly maintained that the kidney will be cut off from receiving and exchanging qi from the other zangfu organs\, leading to its depletion. This decline leads to inevitable yin-yang disruption\, directly affects the flow of qi and blood\, and the eventual weakening of the zangfu organs and their ability to generate qi to support our body. \nOur lecture highlights key patho-mechanisms set into motion by this kidney disconnection and the foreseeable impact on the aging process. Geriatrics is its own separate category and specialty focused on retirement and elderly aged people. It’s necessary to make the distinction between the patho-mechanisms during the aging process versus during old-age. The prime aim of our discussion is to identify key clinical signs so practitioners are able to respond appropriately with key acupuncture strategies and classical herbal formulas\, hopefully correcting patient imbalances\, and supporting long life. \nCourse Outline: \nHour 1-2:\nChinese medicine theory: Longevity and the aging process\nChinese medicine patho-mechanisms: Based on The Difficult Issues (Nan Jing)\nChinese medicine patho-mechanisms: Based on geriatrics \nHour 3-4:\nChinese medicine treatment principles: Acupuncture strategies & classical herbal formulas\nCase study\nQuestion & Answer \nAbout Brian Grosam (PhD)\n\n\nDr. Brian Grosam earned his PhD in Acupuncture in 2009 from the Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine where he fulfilled clinical studies in gynecology and neurology. Upon completion of his PhD\, he became a professor at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine where he taught acupuncture from 2008-2015.Dr. Brian Grosam is the author of “Understanding and Treating Hot Flashes in Menopause with Chinese Medicine” the first book in history to be written on the subject. His book combines Chinese medicine concepts with current Western medicine frameworks of science for a contemporary treatment approach to hot flashes. SUMMARY:1 Day Workshop: Tung Acupuncture for Pelvic Pain Management with Naomi Jankowski
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\nSeminar Description\nPelvic pain\, whether it be from endometriosis\, adenomyosis\, or another condition\, is gaining light in the public eye and more women are looking for alternatives to Western treatment options. A recent study has shown that for 80% of women with endometriosis\, pain is not prompted by the diseased tissue itself\, but rather the way the tissue interacts with the nerves in the pelvis. Surgery may not be the best option for these cases. As acupuncturists we can offer a potential alternative\, using our known pathways of nervous system interaction to benefit these patients. \nEndometriosis and adenomyosis in particular are often considered complex  diseases\, but ones we can work with effectively through the lens of Chinese medicine with the right tools in our tool kit. In this seminar we discuss Tung’s acupuncture for management of pelvic pain conditions in a way that is logical and succinct. Practitioners will leave the day with a selection of Tung’s points that they can begin applying immediately in their clinical practice. We also discuss the broader implications of these points\, outside of the realm of pelvic pain. \n\nTestimonial\n\n“Outstanding! Naomi manages to explain difficult concepts in a way that is easily accessible for those who are unfamiliar with this style of acupuncture. The information is clinically relevant and immediately applicable. Naomi is a pleasure to listen to.!” \n– A.R\, Chinese Medicine Practitioner\n\nCourse Outline\nTung acupuncture is known for its minimal needling and powerful results. This one-day seminar introduces Tung theory and its practical application for treatment which focuses on the management of pelvic pain conditions associated with endometriosis\, adenomyosis\, vaginismus and vulvodynia. This session is appropriate for both the new graduate and those already familiar with the Tung system. \nIn this seminar we condense the concepts of Tung’s acupuncture\, making it immediately accessible and applicable in clinical practice. Practitioners will gain specific understanding of the use of key acupuncture points for pelvic pain conditions with a broad range of clinical applications alongside an analysis of the (TCM) patterns associated with endometriosis\, adenomyosis\, vaginismus and vulvodynia. \nNaomi presents a step-by-step system that allows the practitioner to go from their diagnosis to the appropriate selection of points via pulse diagnosis\, palpation\, and consideration of pain locations\, within a framework that is logical and effective. \nWhat you will learn: \n\nA summarized background of Master Tung and his lineage\, as well as an introduction to the basic concepts of Tung’s acupuncture\, such as imaging\, and use of microsystems.\nAn overview of Western treatment options for endometriosis\, adenomyosis\, vaginismus and vulvodynia.\nPattern differentiation and acupuncture point selection.\nDiscussion of factors affecting point selection such as the location of pain\, the pulse and palpation of potential acupuncture points.\nPatient management and what to aim for when working with pain conditions in clinic.\nAttendees will also have the opportunity to invite patients along and observe Naomi apply the techniques discussed at the seminar.\n\n  \nAbout Naomi Jankowski (AP\, LAc\, MAc\, DiplAc)\n \nNaomi Jankowski is an AHPRA registered acupuncturist\, who has significant experience working with women with pelvic pain within an integrated clinical setting. Naomi graduated from SSNT in 2009 and is now in her 12th year of clinic practice. After graduating\, she studied with Steven Clavey\, and later also practiced at his clinic. SUMMARY:Essentials for Auriculotherapy and Auricular Medicine with Im Quah-Smith
DESCRIPTION:EVENT AT CAPACITY\nAuricular medicine is a stand-alone treatment accessing the brain via cranial nerves to restore functionality. It is sometimes referred to simplistically as ear acupuncture. Auricular medicine accesses brain connectivity via the cranial nerves using the ear (auricle). This therapy can support individuals suffering postural problems\, anxiety\, headache\, depression\, ADHD and functional learning delay. It plays an excellent supporting role in the management of complex pain\, and during chemotherapy and IVF treatments. \nAuriculotherapy is based on proven correspondences between locations on the external ear and the internal organs and systems of the body. The ear acts like an input/output terminal in direct contact with the central nervous system. Information on viscerosomatic states can be accessed via visual clues\, skin electro-conductivity\, and pressure sensitivity at specific points. \nDr Paul Nogier’s Auriculotherapy shows how acupuncture needles are used in sophisticated and powerful therapeutic interventions. \nDr Im Quah-Smith trained under Dr Rapahel Nogier and will teach the principles and practice auriculomedicine\, a true frequency medicine that evolved from Dr. Paul Nogier’s auriculotherapy\, his discovery of the VAS (Vascular Autonomic Signal) in the pulse and his consequent observations of the diagnostic and therapeutic properties of radiant light frequencies on the skin. Auriculotherapy is sometimes referred to as “Battlefield Acupuncture” for its immediate effectiveness as a first-line therapy. \nSeminar Program\n\nIntroduction\nMusculoskeletal Map\nInternal Organs Map\nBrain and Nervous System Map\nLocation of Active Sites\n\n– LUNCH BREAK – \n\nMusculoskeletal System (Back\, Upper Limbs\, Lower Limbs)\nInternal Organs (Liver\, Kidney)\nBrain (Stress\, Anxiety\, Depression)\n\nDetails\nDATE: 21st November 2021 \nTIME: 9:30am – 5:30pm \n7 CPD points \nVENUE: The Royal Squadron Yacht Club\, 33 Peel St\, Kirribilli\, NSW 2061 \nPRICING: \n\nPractitioner – $395\nStudent (Undergraduate) – $295\n\nAbout Im\nDr. Im Quah-Smith is a medical practitioner and independent medical researcher with a focus on optimal wellbeing. Im developed her interest in mind-body medicine during her many years in general practice where she observed the effects of environmental stressors on physical symptomatology in patients. \nDr. Quah-Smith specialises in medical acupuncture and is a Fellow of the Australian Medical Acupuncture College (AMAC). Further acupuncture studies were undertaken in Lyon\, France at GLEM\, the home of modern ear acupuncture\, under Dr. Raphael Nogier. SUMMARY:LIVE INTERACTIVE WEBINAR: Motor Point Acupuncture for Effective Treatment of Chronic Pain of the Upper Extremities with Rich Hazel and Dan Dominguez
DESCRIPTION:CAPACITY REACHED\nPlease Note: Numbers are strictly limited\nPRIVATE ZOOM LINK WILL BE SENT CLOSER TO THE DATE \nWEBINAR PROGRAM\nIntroduction to Chronic Pain of the Upper Extremities\nIn this webinar\, Rich and Dan will give you solid strategies that will work consistently for some of the toughest conditions to treat without acupuncture for overuse injuries in the upper extremity which can be some of the most chronic and debilitating injuries for people. This holds especially true for those who play sport or hold a job that requires repetitive movement that may cause strain injuries to the elbow\, wrist and fingers. Motor Point Acupuncture makes many of these issues melt away in very few sessions. \nFor many chronic issues people tend to seek more invasive treatments/surgical interventions for injuries that generally respond very well and often very quickly to motor point acupuncture. \nPatients feel the relief in minutes. \nWhen a joint or tendon in the elbow or wrist is causing pain it’s most likely due to muscle shortening in groups of muscles that flex or extend the wrist fingers or elbow. Unlike most injuries\, the forearm can be assessed based on palpation\, symptoms and an understanding of the actions and anatomy of the muscles which will be covered in this webinar. \nDan will be demonstrating some Neurofunctional approaches that stimulate the musculocutaneous nerve or the radial nerve septum using the pointer plus for certain conditions. Making sure you develop the skills and knowledge to nail Motor Point treatment consistently and reliably time after time again for this focus area\, so that patients will feel comfortable and confident sharing their results with colleagues and strangers to refer to your practice\, \nPeople of all ages can get these repetitive stress injuries from students to those who work long hours at a desk to tradesmen\, and the symptoms\, anatomy\, palpation and explanation of the following injuries (below) will be covered by Rich and Dan through theory and demonstration of needling technique. \nThe following dysfunctions will be covered:  \n\nTennis elbow\nGolfers elbow\nTriceps for the tennis and golfers\nOlecranon pain or bursitis\nBiceps tendonitis or injury coracobrachialis\nMusculocutaneous nerve (Neurofunctional)\nDe quervains tenosynovitis\nTrigger finger strategy\nCubital tunnel\nCarpal tunnel\nRadial nerve septum (Neurofunctional)\nTexters thumb\nTFCC tear\n\nIf you struggle with treating any or all of these issues\, join us. This is a MUST SEE WEBINAR! \nIn their usual style\, Rich and Dan never hold back on any tips or tricks that they have learnt over their years in clinical practice. They want you to be successful so more people will value acupuncture as the first line approach for most musculoskeletal issues. \n \n \n  \nVideo Demonstrations Included within:\nElectric Stimulation Protocols\nFrequency and tx times \nDetails\nDate: Sunday\, 14th of November 2021\nTime: 10am – 1.15pm\nCPD: 3 CPD points\nVENUE: LIVE ONLINE COURSE- ZOOM LINK WILL BE PROVIDED CLOSER TO THE DATE \nEarly Bird Pricing– $199 (Ends 01/11/2021)\nNormal Pricing: $210 \nThis is a live webinar conducted via the ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCING Platform. \nDisclaimer before registering for the Live Webinar\nPlease check the relevant date/time zone to your location in accordance with the date and time provided above. SUMMARY:LIVE INTERACTIVE WEBINAR: The Underlying Theory behind Master Tung Point Selection: Why\, What\, When and How you use specific points with Brad Whisnant
DESCRIPTION:BOOKED OUT \nIntroduction\nJoin us for a this Live Interactive Webinar on The Underlying Theory behind Master Tung Point Selection: Why\, What\, When and How You Use Specific Points with Brad Whisnant. \nThe hardest and most frustrating thing is when we hope and pray what needle choice\, we picked helps our patient.  Over the years I have witnessed acupuncturists desperation as they choose points based on the “back of the book” or from some random page in their seminar notes. \nMaster Tung acupuncture does NOT have to be complicated nor frustrating. \nThis seminar is about the consistent reliable and predicable results and theory while practicing master Tung points in your clinic.  If the theory is correct? \nThe point choice is simple.\nThe results are exemplary.\nYour patients will be excited.\nAnd your clinic will be a clinic of patients improving and getting amazing medical outcomes. \nThis is the Master Tung method. Are you ready to re-consolidate the theory you know while taking your knowledge up a notch? \nThis webinar includes 4 hours focused on lessons with a “open” 1 Hour Q&A section at the very end with Brad\, answering all the questions you have been itching to have answered. \nAbout the Brad:  \nBrad Whisnant is a licensed acupuncturist and certified medicinal herbalist. He is a native of Oregon\, graduating from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and later from Emperors College with his DAOM. Dr. Whisnant is a talented practitioner and an avid student of Dr. Jimmy Chang\, Dr. Richard Tan\, and Dr. Wei Chieh Young. \nDr. Whisnant brings 3\,000 years of Chinese medicine into the present by incorporating modern research and clinical relevance in his treatment strategies. He has run volunteer clinics in Vietnam\, Honduras\, India and America. Treating over 150 patients per day enabled him to apply distal acupuncture methods and determine which method is most effective. He teaches a unique blend of the Balance Method and Master Tung acupuncture theories. His goal is to take acupuncture theories out of the textbook and into the clinic\, and prove what works.\nHe has written a series of books on Tung and distal acupuncture. The books are a combination of theory and case studies. To ensure that these techniques are accessible\, the point images are included in each case study. \n\nProgram Outline\nPart 1\nIntro to Master Tung: \nTHE BIG 5- Who\, What\, Where\, When and Why\nNomenclature of Master Tung points\nQuick overview of the numbering system \nPart 2\nNerve reaction area idea\nConcept of the 5 Zang\nUnderstanding Channel relationships\nDr. Tan idea folded over to Master Tung\, what channel relationships are the best\nConcept of the Image and the Mirror\nWhat images are best and which are not appropriate under what/which circumstances.  \nPart 3\nUsing the Tung system for Clinical success: \nHow we do this\nWhy we do this\nUnderstanding the 3-4 limb concept \nPart 4\nHow to structure treatment plans with your patients for clinical success\nHow to get away from being neurotic about immediate patient outcomes and why this is important\nCommunicating how and why the Tung points work to your patients\nEducating your patients for more informed patients and a smoother journey\nWorking through some basic treatment plans and treatment strategies for clinical success \nQ&A Session\nOpen 1 hour Q&A Session with Brad Whisnant \nNow is the time to ask all the burning questions you may have had about the MT system\, any questions you may have noted down during the lecture or your particular understanding. Unearthing Blindspots. \n \nMax 50 attendee limit for this online course to ensure quality of content delivery\, higher presenter engagement and to enable Q&A in the allocated time. \n\nWebinar Details\nDate:  Sunday\, 15th of August 2021 (AEST/Sydney\, Melbourne\, Canberra Time)\nTime: 8.30AM- 1.30PM\nTotal Hours:  5 hours (covers 4 hours content\, 1 hour Q&A)\nCPD Points: 5 hours\nMax Participants: 50\nZOOM INVITE LINK WILL BE PROVIDED VIA EMAIL CLOSER TO THE DATE\n\nPre-sale of Recording\nAvailable to view from the early September 2021\nPre-Purchase the webinar Recording for $199 (CLICK HERE) \nPricing\n\nPractitioner – AUD $260\nStudent – AUD $220\n\n  \nThis is a live webinar conducted via the ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCING/MEETING Platform\, this webinar will also be available as a recording approximately 1-2 weeks after live webinar has concluded.\nWe expect students who wish to attend the Live webinar to be somewhat familiar with the process of zoom meetings and/or other video conferencing software. \nBOOKED OUT

SUMMARY:On Treating Pain: Clinical Applications of Chinese Herbal Medicine Patents - Dr Shu Wang
DESCRIPTION:Please note: BOOKED OUT. Please contact us to be put on a waiting list\nPain Management\nIn Australia\, pain is generally the most common and foremost reason for patients to seek healthcare from a TCM practitioner. \nThe use of Chinese herbal medicine patents is a modality which is often overlooked in favour of acupuncture; however\, herbs reap some of the clinical outcomes as a standalone therapy or combined with acupuncture. \nIf the presenting pain is addressed\, the treatment outcome will be classified as much more successful. With pain syndromes\, it is relatively easy to arrive at a differential diagnosis once you know the signs to look out for – as a result of this\, types of pain will be much easier to treat\, resulting in higher efficacy with rapid clinical results. \nIn this seminar\, Dr Shu Wang will be disseminating his prescription methodology along with pearls of wisdom from decades-long experiences in clinical practise\, with a clear focus on the treatment of various pain syndromes using easy to prescribe herbal patents for higher patient compliance. \nWhat You Will Learn\nThe principles of Chinese Herbal Medicine treatment are solely focused on administration of herbs through syndrome differentiation which greatly differs from the principles of Western Medicine. Therefore the first rule of prescription is differential diagnosis. Outlined are the Chinese Medicine syndromes with their Western medicine counterparts which will be discussed in the seminar. \n\nBlood stasis Bi syndrome (sports injury\, sciatica\, dysmenorrhea\, migraine\, endometriosis\, Lyme disease\, etc.)\nLiver and kidney deficiency syndrome (degenerative osteoarthritis OA\, bone spur hyperplasia\, baker’s cyst of knee arthritis\, bursitis\, frozen shoulder\, tennis elbow\, etc.)\nLiver Qi stagnation syndrome (fibromyalgia\, premenstrual tension syndrome\, phantom limb pain\, menopausal pain indeterminate disease…)\nLiver fire syndrome (trigeminal neuralgia\, wind-heat/fire blazing toothache\, migraine\, otitis media\, herpes zoster\, etc.)\nSpleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome (CFS\, rheumatic joint pain\, rheumatoid arthritis\, etc)\nPhlegm turbidity syndrome (gout arthritis\, tenosynovitis cyst\, periodontitis swelling and pain\, etc.)\nInflammation resulting from heat toxins (diverticulitis\, cystitis\, prostatitis\, sinusitis)\n\nDetails\nDate: Sunday 25th October 2020 \nTime: 9:30am – 5:00pm \nCPD: 6 Points \nVenue: SITCM\, 25-29 Dixon St\, Haymarket NSW 2000 \nPricing: \n\nPractitioner – $195\nStudent – FREE. DESCRIPTION:Register Now\nThis series of talks will look at some of the most important Chinese herbal formulas\, and examine the big ideas behind their intent\, construction and use. The big ideas underlie the fundamental physiological and pathological concepts of Chinese medicine\, and we will examine them in some detail\, from the starting point of a formula or formula family that represents and reflects the idea \nSession 1: 22nd March 2020\nXiao Chai Hu Tang\nXiao Chai Hu Tang is one of the foundation formulas of the Shang Han Lun\, and certainly one of the most widely used of all Chinese herbal prescriptions.
