He has developed this into  Transformational Acupuncture\, a practical system\, working on the level of Mind\, Body and Spirit\, helping a wide range of medical problems including mental health and chronic pain. Dr Joannou is passionate about teaching practitioners to gain optimal results with their clients. \nCourse Outline\nIntroductory – Level 1 \nMental Illness is the number one medical problem of the 21st Century. One million Australians suffer with depression and a further two million with anxiety. \nDuring this level 1 training you will learn to: \n– Safely improve symptoms of depression and anxiety in patients with clinically diagnosed Major Depression Generalised Anxiety disorder\, Panic Disorder and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder using Transformational Acupuncture; \n– Safely integrate acupuncture treatment into the medical framework and learn to communicate effectively with GP’s; \n– Learn how to assess the severity of mental health conditions\, understand the classes of medications currently used as treatment and learn to identify red flags and know the referral pathways in that situation; \n– Understand how Transformational Acupuncture differs from Traditional Chinese Medicine and identify the most effective method to treat presenting conditions; \n– Expand your acupuncture skills\, learning the power of needle point combinations \nDr Joannou has developed this easy-to-learn method over a number of years. He has documented significant benefits to his patients using these methods and is offering to share his knowledge and techniques with other acupuncture practitioners. \nThis is a very practical workshop with the majority delivered as hands-on experience.
